Lou Garrison
Emeritus Professor, The Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics (CHOICE) Institute, University of Washington
Lou Garrison is a professor emeritus in The Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics (CHOICE) Institute in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Washington and a visiting senior fellow at the Office of Health Economics in London. Prior to joining UW in 2004, Garrison worked in nonprofit policy research and the pharmaceutical industry.
Garrison received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University. He has more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include national and international health policy issues and the economic evaluation of pharmaceuticals and other technologies. Garrison was president of the Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) from July 2016 to June 2017. In September 2022, ISPOR honored Garrison with the Avedis Donabedian Outcomes Research Lifetime Achievement Award. See Garrison's full profile.
