Hannele K. Zubeck
Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE, Professor Emerita in Civil Engineering, University of Alaska Anchorage
Hannele Zubeck is an expert in the field of geotechnical engineering, specifically engineering for frozen ground and pavement in cold regions. At the University of Alaska Anchorage, she taught courses in arctic engineering and geotechnical engineering, in addition to research and service activities. Prior to joining the university, Zubeck's experience included working as a geotechnical engineer for engineering consulting companies and as a research engineer in pavement materials for an oil company.
Zubeck currently serves on several international committees, including the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Cold Regions Engineering Division. She's an editorial board member of the Elsevier Journal for Cold Regions Science and Technology, and she also co-authored the Cold Regions Pavement Engineering book published by ASCEPress/McGrawHill. Zubeck earned her civil engineering degrees at Tampere University, Finland and Oregon State University.
